Using Hushwork
Agents: describe it and it runs
An agent is a task you describe in one sentence. Hushwork saves it and runs it straight away, and on a schedule if you say when.
Make an agent
- Open Agents in the side menu.
- Describe the task in plain English, for example "Every weekday at 9, sum up today's meetings and email them to me".
- Press Create agent.
Hushwork writes the steps for you with the same planner as the workspace, saves the agent, and runs it once. You land on that run, with the results under each step.
Scheduling is optional
If your sentence says when, like "every Monday at 9" or "every weekday at 17:30", the agent also runs on that schedule, in your own time. If it does not say when, it simply runs now, and you can press Run now on its card whenever you like.
To add, change or pause a schedule later, use the schedule panel on the agent's card. See Schedules for how the clock works.
What an agent does by itself
- It reads, looks things up and asks the AI by itself.
- A step that sends an email, adds a row or creates a task waits for your Approve on the Runs page, exactly like a Manual run. You read the exact words first.
- A scheduled agent only reads by itself until you tick Let it write by itself on its schedule.
- When a scheduled run leaves a step waiting, you get one short email saying so, with a link to the Runs page. Never at night, at most 3 a day. See Schedules.
When the agent's latest run has steps waiting for you, its card says so, for example "2 steps are waiting for your Approve". Click it to open that run on the Runs page. When nothing waits, the card says nothing.
See Runs and Approve for how approving works.
AI steps
You have 15 AI steps a day. They are shared by every Ask the AI step in your runs, by the AI summary a look in Linear, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Drive or another app adds, by watch checks, and by your Hushwork Agent (3 a day when it is on). They reset at midnight UTC.
Each agent card says how many one run uses, for example "Uses up to 2 of your 15 AI steps each run". It says "up to" because a look that finds nothing adds no summary. When an agent uses none, the card says nothing.
Agents and the Builder
An agent is a workflow underneath. Click its name to open it in the Builder and change any step by hand. Your other workflows stay on the Workflows page, and the Builder works the same as before. Use whichever you like: describe it as an agent, or build it block by block.
Agents and your Hushwork Agent
Your Hushwork Agent is different: it is always on and leaves notes on your workspace. The agents on the Agents page are the ones you create yourself, each for one task.
